Sridevi’s second innings in Bollywood started with a bang. Her 2012 film English Vinglish ticked all the right boxes and was also declared a box office success. But she didn’t sign any other film for good three years before her Tamil film Pulli (2015) hit theatres.
The Mr India star is now ready to with her new film, Mom. Sridevi tweeted the film’s first look on Tuesday. Directed by debutant Ravi Udywar, Mom’s poster is very intriguing. The word mother is written in many languages on it which appeals emotionally, but the colour used in the poster gives it a thriller-like feel.
The film will also feature Pakistani actors Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui in important roles. Nawazuddin Siddiqui too will be seen in Mom. The lighting on Sridevi’s face suggests she is playing a gritty character who has a clear conscience.
AR Rahman has been roped in to score music for the movie. Originally made in Hindi, the film will also be simultaneously releasing in Telugu and Tamil.
The title is written in red and white which may represent struggle and peace in the mother’s life in the film. Produced by Boney Kapoor, Mom is scheduled to release on July 14, 2017.
