Rahman’s tribute to the victims of hate

Award-winning music composer A.R. Rahman paid a moving tribute to the victims of the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai in 2008 by posting a rendition of the popular Hindi song “Hum Ko Man Ki Shakti Dena” on his Facebook page Nov. 26, dedicating it to the “victims of hate.”

The song was originally penned by film lyricist and poet Gulzar with music by Vasant Desai for the 1971 film “Guddi.” A prayer asking for mental strength, it is still sung in schools across India.
