The poster for Iranian director Majid Majidi’s next film, Beyond the Clouds was released at the Berlin Film Festival. The film, which is set in India, will star Shahid Kapoor’s stepbrother, Ishan Khattar.

Produced by Zee Studios and Eyecandy Films, it’s one of the most anticipated films of the year since it’s the Oscar nominated filmmaker’s first ever film in India and also marks Ishaan’s debut.

Talking about showcasing the first poster at Berlin Film Festival, producers Akash Chawla of Zee Studios and Shareen Mantri Kedia of Eyecandy films said, “This poster is Mr. Majidi’s vision for the film and his special showcase of India seen from his lens and sets the tone of the project, that the viewers can look forward to. We are excited about unveiling the first look of our film at Berlin Film Festival and hope that everyone there shares and partakes in our enthusiasm with their positive response.”

Majidi is best known for world cinema classics like The Song of Sparrows, Baran, The Color of Paradise and Children of Heaven.

The director, who first teamed up with Rahman for Muhammad: The Messenger of God, said he always wanted to make a film in India. “Filmmakers like Satyajit Ray, whose work I adore, have represented India’s culture, rich heritage and the lives of common people to a global audience. These visions and images have stayed in my mind for years and cajoled me to make a film in India.

Speaking further about casting Ishaan, Majidi says, “Ishaan is a wonderful boy. He is extremely talented and I feel, he will have a bright future in the film industry.”

Ishaan also shared the poster on Instagram. “#beyondtheclouds #majidmajidi #berlinale #eyecandyfilms #zeestudios,” he wrote along side the sepia tone poster. The Iranian director is best known for world cinema classics like The Song of Sparrows, Baran, The Color of Paradise and Children of Heaven. The film, which marks Majidi’s first ever project in India, will be shot at numerous locations in the country. A R Rahman is on board to compose the music for the movie.
