Kerala has been ravaged by torrential rains, overflowing rivers and dams, and a series of landslides. With several districts in ‘God’s Own Country’ submerged, normal life has come to a grinding halt. Currently, several rescue missions are at work trying to move people to safe locations and reach essential resources to them. To this end, many film stars from the south, as well as B-town, have made generous donations to flood relief funds.

Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman has made a surprise gesture to raise awareness about the plight of the state by making special mention of it at his recent concert in California.

During his performance, ARR tweaked one of his most popular numbers, ‘Mustafa Mustafa’ from the film Kadhalar Dhinam, and changed the lyrics to ‘Kerala, Kerala Don’t Worry Kerala, Kaalam Nam Thozhan Kerala’. The audience was surprised by this unexpected change and they lauded his gesture with loud cheers. Since then, a video of his performance has been going viral on online platforms.

Meanwhile, Rahman has also posted on his Twitter handle, “Don’t Worry Kerala #KeralaFloods #ARRahman #HelpKerala #StandwithKerala”.
